104 Pirated “Music Serving” sites to be blocked in India

As directed by the Calcutta high court, all the ISPs in India have to block websites that provide pirated music. The 142 companies who are a part of IMI (Indian Music Industry) filed a case against such sites.

Now, as per the court order, the ISPs have been provided with 3 methods to block the sites – Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) block, IP block or DNS block.

After these sites the IMI will go after the Filesharing sites. In an interview with Medianama, Apurv Nagpal (CEO, Saregama) said:
